He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Burtis (Rothamel); his brother Colin Burtis; and his pet Beavis. He is survived by: his father Robert Burtis; his siblings, Karen Issa, Craig Burtis and David Burtis (Jenny); and his nieces and nephews, Leila Issa, Deana Issa, Aliyah Burtis, Meghan Burtis, Mahmoud Issa and Zachariah Issa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
