She was predeceased by: her father Anthony "Tony" Bishop. She is survived by: her mother Theresa Szuminski (Brownlee); her husband Brandon O'Connell; her daughter Kaylin O'Connell; her stepfather Dale Szuminski of Eldridge, Iowa; her siblings, Ashli Sherman (Daniel) of Cedar Rapids, A. J, Lee of Burlington, Madison Bishop of Ankeny, Elisabeth "Elli" Bishop of Ottumwa, Quentin Bishop (Haley) of Ottumwa, Zach and Brady Szuminski of Eldridge; her in-laws, Pat and Sheryl O'Connell of Marion, Iowa; her stepparents, Lisa Bishop and Jeff Lee; her nieces and nephews, Briar Sherman, Jason Sherman, Kellen Murphy and Keegan Murphy; her sister-in-law Candice Murphy (Ryan); and her grandfather Dan Brownlee (Karen) of Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be used towards a college fund for Kaylin. In keeping with her giving spirit, Alyson will continue to live on through her gift of organ donation.
