She was predeceased by: her parents, Keith E. and Mary E. Carter (Morgan). She is survived by: her husband Doug Van Gelder of Cedar Falls; her children, Jom (Stephanie) of Lincoln, Seth of Cedar Falls and Beau (Kelley) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Olive, Veda and Cael; and her siblings, Mark Carter and Karen Blom (Kyle Klingman).
