He was predeceased by: his parents, Niels and Laura Bro (Bork); his wife Mary; and his siblings, N. Arnold, Arthur, Ingward, Howard, H. Edwin, Sigrid, Manville, Leona, Velma, Mervin and Franklin.
He is survived by: his children, Beth Roof (John) of La Crosse, WI and Reed Bro (Jamie) of Colorado Springs, CO; and his grandchildren, Audrey Horacek (Tony) of Holmen, WI, Samuel Roof (Nika George) of Omaha, NE, Stephanie Calli (Clint) of Colorado Springs, CO and Mary Manning (Michael) of Edmund, OK. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1978, he was recognized for "Outstanding Service and Contributions to Industrial Arts in Iowa" by the Iowa Industrial Arts Cadre.
