He was predeceased by: his foster parents, Carl Luze and Agnes Luze; his sisters, Dorothy Sweeney and Shirley Coffman; and his foster siblings, Dwayne Luze and Mary Jane Boorom.
He is survived by: his wife LaVonne "Bonnie" Mennenga of Cedar Falls; his children, Gary Hamer (Becky) of Robins, IA. and Teresa Balmer (Jim) of Andalusia, IL.; and his granddaughters, Marie McNary (Josh) of Cedar Rapids, Lisa Hamm (Phillip) of Cedar Rapids and Trisha Yakes (Aaron) of Chatham, IL. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Memorials: may be directed to the family for a donation to be made on his behalf at a later date.
