He was predeceased by: his parents, Dena Swanson and Ivan Swanson; and his siblings, Robert Swanson and Gloria Hansen. He is survived by: his wife Karen (Juhl); his daughters, Tammy Ralph (Steve) of Iowa City and Tracy Bright of Cedar Falls; his grandsons, Jeremy Ralph (Misty) of Coralville, Derek Ralph (Marie) of Minneapolis, Nick Bright of Janesville and Chris Bright of Waterloo; his great grandchild Christian Ralph of Coralville; and his brother Don Swanson of Cedar Falls.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial bench at the Western Home or to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
