It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Lee Averill of Cedar Falls, Iowa, born in Wadena, Iowa, who passed away on May 28, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Averill and Nellie Maude Averill (Sankey); his wife Rita Sears; and his siblings, Bob, Charles Averill, Beulah LaPole, Darleen Buehner, June Dunn and LaVonne Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Averill (Ann Philipp) of Cedar Falls, Catherine Howland of Cedar Falls, Jean Gee of Cedar Falls and Timothy Averill of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Jim Averill (Maggie) of Cedar Falls, Hannah Howland Jacobs (Austin) of Coralville and Ruth Gee of Houston, TX; and his great grandchild Mike Averill of Cedar Falls.
