He was predeceased by: his parents, Lockwood Gillett and Neva Gillett (Bellinger); his wife Yvonne Kueker; his sister Fonda Federspiel; his brother-in-law Duane Kueker; and his nephews, Michael Kueker and Troy Holm.
He is survived by: his children, Darrin Gillett (Stephanie) of Cedar Falls and Denise Oltrogge (Ron) of Readlyn; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rosenstiel (Aaron), Luke Gillett (Hailee Merryman), Ethan Oltrogge and LeeAnn Oltrogge; his great grandchild Tate Rosenstiel; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Kueker of Denver and Jerry Federspiel of Waterloo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
