It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marcia Jean Hanson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, born in Mason City, Iowa, who passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Joseph and Mary Jean Chute (Carlson); and her siblings, Mary Ann and Merle Franklin. She is survived by: her husband Jim of Joseph's Catholic Church; her children, Carrie Bailey (Chip) of Pittsboro and Deb Van Dyke (Deric) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her grandchildren, Chaz, Colton, Caitlin, Devon and Delaney; and her siblings, Michael Chute (Sara Oltrogge), Mindy Jost (Rick), Mark Chute (Sheryl), Marty Chute (Awilda), Michelle Thornburg (Steve) and Matt Chute (Tracie).
Memorial donations received will be donated in Marcia's honor to the Iowa Veterans Home Christmas Fund. Keep Marcia's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
