He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Heiden and Alice Van Heiden (Abbas); and his siblings, Jeanette Merril (Gordon), Lavern Van Heiden (Kay), Jerry Devries (Sally) and David Van Heiden (Vicki).
He is survived by: his wife Barb Van Heiden of Cedar Falls; his sons, Kevin Van Heiden (Amber) of Cedar Falls and Justin Van Heiden of Waterloo; his granddaughters, Lizzy, Olivia and River Van Heiden; and his siblings, Merna Lovell (Larry) of Waverly, Laurie Diehm (Don) of Reinbeck, Ben DeVries (Judy) of Reinbeck, Jerald Van Heiden (Connie) and Richard Van Heiden (Kim Carter) of Steamboat Rock. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Richardson Funeral Service (615 Main St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church (7401 University Ave, Cedar Falls, IA 50613-5025).
