He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Schrum and Anita Schrum (Warner); his wife Marilyn Jean Lister; and his sisters, Mary and Hazel Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Rachel Beasley (Joseph) of Waterloo, Heidi Piehl (Jesse) of Readlyn and Joshua Schrum of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Ashley Beasley, Mysti Beasley, Jared Piehl, Adam Piehl, Danica Piehl, Ellie Piehl, Lucy Piehl and Amelia Piehl; and his brothers, Hans, Jerry (Gail) of California, Robert of Fayetteville and Steve (Carol) of Grand Junction. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
