He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Weltzin and Melda Weltzin (Maldzahn); his wife Rose Christian; and his siblings, Judy Gates and Danny Weltzin.

He is survived by: his children, Michelle Nelson (Matthew) of Denver, IA, Rachel Kruger (Steve) of Waterloo, IA and Matthew Allen Weltzin (Kelsey) of Pleasant Hill, IA; his grandchildren, Kalynn Rose Weltzin, Alex Lee and Brandon Henry Kruger; and his sisters, Connie Schipper of Ackley, IA and Pat Wickham (Eddie) of Osage, IA..
