He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Earl C. Vorland and Loraine Vorland (Herbranson); his brother Robert Vorland (Julia); his father-in-law Kenneth Garetson, Sr.; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Garetson, Jr. (Julie).
He is survived by: his wife K. D. Vorland of Cedar Falls; his children, Allison Ringheden (Glenn) of Waterloo, Allyson McLaughlin (Matt) of Denver and Caleb Krutsinger (April) of Waverly; his grandchildren, Kaytlen, Vincent, Connor, Gavin, Maximus and Lorelei; his brothers, Dr. David Vorland (Terri) of Cedar Falls, Tim Vorland (Teri) and Randy Vorland (Michelle) of Hudson; his mother-in-law Audrey Garetson of Lamont; and his siblings-in-law, Kris McIntee (Tom) of Williamsburg and Keith Garetson of Renwick. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
