In the sacred silence of farewell, Garry is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Garry's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlyle Bixby and Dorothy Pierce Bixby; his wife Janet "Jan" Larson; his children, Roxanne Bixby and Reece Bixby; and his sister Marlene Troyer.

He is survived by: his children, Rinda Bergen (Brad) of Hudson and Randy Bixby (Lesli) of Phoenix, AZ; his daughter-in-law Angie Bixby-Ellermann of Parkersburg; and his brother Paul Bixby (Sue) of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Tower Park (4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family where a memorial fund will be established.

“Garry will be missed. I served on the Board of Directors with Garry at FSSB/EVB. I could always count on Garry's integrity. His attention to detail and assurance of always doing what was best for those he served and represented was a strength that could always be counted on.
