It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gale Johnson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on January 17, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Johnson and Doris Short Johnson; his daughter Laura Ward; his great grandchildren, Jerrad Ramon and Jessica Johnson; and his siblings, Elaine Momberg, Sandra Johnson, Eddy and Bill Johnson.
He is survived by: his former wives, Carol Kerns and Joan Smelser; his children, Sandy Holkan (Tony) of Buckingham, IA, Randy Johnson (Janet) of Waterloo, Deborah Eliason (Kevin) of Big Lake, MN, Pearl Studer (Jeff) of Omaha, NE, Janette Arnold (Jerry) of Clear Lake, IA and Greg Johnson (Brenda Whiteside) of Waterloo; and his sister Margaret Grisel of Waterloo. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
