She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Rothenay and Christine Rothenay (Nelson); her husbands, Max and Leonard Nielsen, Sr.; her daughter Victoria Beach; and her siblings, Frederick, Florence, Lucille, Louise, Eva, Marjorie, Phyllis, Ethel and Edward.
She is survived by: her son Leonard "Butch" Nielsen, Jr. of Cedar Falls; her grandchildren, Dr. Amy Nielsen, Jill DeVoll (Ron), Tanya Egeness, Shaun LaDue (Amy) and Justin LaDue; her great grandchildren, Charli, Natalie, Taalyr, Devon and Lukas; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Morgan, Ryan, Owen and Lauren; her niece Deb Lizer; her close friend Laurie Magee; and also Freddie Holmes. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
