He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elliott Edward and Ercell Marie Nation Smith; his friend Larry Andorf (Audrey); his daughter Delores Jean; his wife Marlys; his son Steven; his children-in-law, Linda Smith of Marshalltown and Ronald Dean of Waverly; his grandchildren, Ashley, Frederico Silva of Doha, Qatar, Lindsey, Jared Callahan of Marshalltown, William Dean and Robert Dean of Waverly; his great grandchildren, Isaac and Cameron Callahan; his brother Harlan; his sister-in-law Mary Smith of Hudson; his sister Beverly Hesse; his brother-in-law Siegfried Hesse; and his brother Charles Smith. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church of Hudson (301 Washington St, Hudson, IA 50643). A masonic service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the Hudson High School FFA and United Methodist Church of Hudson.
