He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldo Meier and Edna Meier (Hesse); his parents-in-law, William and Oudie Betels; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Gray and Deanna Swanson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Betels; his children, Cassandra Miller (Dean) of Johnston, Robert Meier (Brandi) of St. Ansgar and Thomas Meier (Lorene) of Osage; his grandchildren, Nicholas Miller (Erica), Brandon Miller, Caitlin Miller, Becca Ferrall (Josh), Amanda Pitts (Dillon), Jessica Meier, Elayna Meier, Izzy, Kamen, Pyper Malmin, Josiah, Bethany, Susanna, Benaiah, Rhema and Zebulun Meier; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Amelia Ferrall, Camryn and Warren Pitts; and his sisters, Diane Howard (Laverne) of Bella Vista and Ardith Meier (Fred) of Cedar Falls.
