He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hager and Eunice Hager (Elwell). He is survived by: his wife Norma Bakker; his children, Cynthia Craigmile (Mark) of Waukee, Randall Hager (Maria Stepanova) of Grundy Center, Cathleen Hager of Moberly, MO, Cheryl Klahsen (Mark) of Hudson, Ronald Hager (Brenda) and Richard Hager (Tammy); his grandchildren, Matthew Craigmile (Madalyn), Michaela Craigmile, Ilya Stepanov, Kayla Klahsen, Alyssa Klahsen, Abby Rolston (Nolan), Devin Hager and Madelyn Hager; and his great grandchildren, Calvin and Caden Craigmile.
