He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Coughlin and Elsie Hanson Coughlin; his wife Vivian Hemmer; his siblings, Jerry Coughlin and Peggy Kenoyer; his close friend Richard Hemmer (Uncle Dick); and his friend Dorothy Bierschenk.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Coughlin (Brenda) of Cumming, IA, Kevin Coughlin (Donna) of Rochester, MN, Craig Coughlin (Bobbi) of St. Augustine, FL, Cindy Thompson (Brad) of Lenexa, KS and Angie Scott (John) of Park View, IA.; and his sister-in-law Maggie Hemmer. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
