He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Glenn, Doris Crouse, Carl and Winifred Hanson. He is survived by: his parents, Stephen Crouse and Carlene Crouse (Hanson); his sisters, Stephanie Key (Jasen) and Victoria Crouse; his nephews, Brodey, Chance Key, Thresa "Terry" Burds and Michael George; and his pet Mia. He is also survived by six aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, Carl's family has established the "Carl S. Crouse Memorial Fund" to help future UNI students.
