He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin "Earl" Shelton and Helen Shelton (Buzzard); and also, Don Penly (Effie) and Don Penly II. He is survived by: his wife Carol Mae Wilsey; his sons, Dwight "Andy" Shelton (Meredith) of Fitchburg, Michael Adam Shelton (Emily) of Hudson and Matthew Aaron Shelton (Kelly) of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Dakota, Hunter, Lauren, Jacob and Macie; his siblings, Revis Shelton of Effingham, Keith Shelton (Alice) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Elaine Parker of Carbondale, Illinois; his niece Kim Fritz (Andy) of Savannah, Texas; and also, Rebecca, Ellen, Jane and David.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Black Hawk County Veterans Administration in Waterloo, Cedar Valley Hospice or the Shriner's Children's Hospitals.
