He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Dean Garbes. He is survived by: his parents, Robert Garbes and Miriam Garbes (Bridges) of Shell Rock; and his siblings, Brenda Whiteside (Greg Johnson) of Shell Rock, Bryan Garbes (Lauri Winters) of Shell Rock, Bev Lee (Curt) of Waverly, Bobette Schmirler (Thomas) of Milwaukee and Brent Garbes (Marty) of Waukon. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, 34 great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews.
