It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lavone Witzel of Castana, Iowa, who passed away on September 15, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Seffa Elizabeth Hasbrouck (Baker) and Raymond Hasbrouck; and her siblings, Louise Stinton, Jesse Hasbrouck, Wayne Hasbrouck, Morris Hasbrouck and Lenord.

She is survived by: her husband Hans Witzel of Castana, Iowa; her children, Carol Pritchard (Bill) of Mapleton, Mark Witzel of Pisgah, David Witzel of Castana, Donald Witzel (Deanna) of Danville, Brian Witzel of Mapleton and Colleen Musson (Jim) of Danville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jeremy Doucette (Courtney), Justin Doucette, Troy Goudge, Christopher Witzel, Benjamin Witzel, Matthew Witzel, Daniel Witzel (Emma), Robert Witzel (Halley), Katie Spencer (Jason), Brittney Witzel, Kyle Witzel, Bryson Witzel, Karli Witzel, Joshua Hetzel (Ali), Elizabeth Sothen and Adam Sothen; and her siblings, Retha Bielenberg (Richard), Jerry Hasbrouck (Joanie) and Rick Hasbrouck. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 – 3:00 P. M. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the church. (Please bring and wear masks).
