He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Hanson and Hazel Hanson (Riddle); his brother Harold; his nephew Roger Petersen; his sister-in-law Patricia Petersen; his niece Ann Cox; and his brother-in-law Heral Jensen.
He is survived by: his former wife Catherine Anderson; his wife Cathy Hanson of Castana, Iowa; his children, Pamela Eminger (Randy) of Belle Vista, Ark, Adam of San Antonio, Thomas of Manor, Philip (Kristin) of Austin, Texas, Bradley Hanson (Mary Jo) of Castana and Beau (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Kane of Castana, Samuel of Mapleton and Theodore (Sarah) of Sioux City; his children, Glen of Mapleton, Iowa, Robert Hanson (Maureen), Natalie of Fort Worth, Mitchell of Bloomfield, Wesley of Iowa City, Gabriel, Olivia, Jillian and Cynthia Hanson of Sioux City; his grandchild Bradey; his daughters, Theresa Leslie of Bentonville and Hannah; his grandchildren, Benjamin of Bentonville, Carleton of Flagstaff, Ariz, Braeden and Carryn; his siblings, Harvey Hanson (Nancy) of Castana and Lois Jensen of Sioux City, Iowa; his brother-in-law Paul Petersen of Turin, Iowa; his uncle Myron Riddle (Diane) of Kearney, Neb.; and his aunt June Riddle of Onawa, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P. M. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Rush Family Chapel Onawa, Iowa. (No family will be present at the visitation)- Social distancing measures must be followed-Due to Covid-19 restrictions- Please bring and wear masks.) A Private Immediate Family Service will be held with burial at a later date in Center Cemetery, Castana, Iowa.
