He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Oakland and Myrtle Oakland (Peterson); his daughter Lisa Hageman (Oakland); his siblings, Harold, Herman and Marie Decker (Carl); his nephew Randy Butikofer; and his brother-in-law Bob Nims.
He is survived by: his close friend Pat Gunderson-Butikofer; his wife Pat; his daughter Lori Oakland of Des Moines; his grandsons, Devin Hermanson (Kelsey Casey) of Hopkinton, Danon Hageman of De Witt and Dawson Hageman (Rachel Darnall) of Ossian; his great grandchild Henry Hermanson; his stepdaughter Heather Coffin (Chad); his stepgrandchildren, Caleb (Taylor Russell), Teagan and Avary of Jesup; his brothers, Gordon Oakland Ossian (Marlys) and Kermit Oakland Ossian (Linda); and his sisters-in-law, Ileta Oakland, Luann Nims and Kathleen Rothlisberger (Kim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
