Gavin of Cascade, Iowa, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on August 2, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Verdon J. Gavin and Helen C. Gavin (Oeschger); his wife Sherrie D. Babbage; his granddaughter Amy Jo Gavin; his nephew Kraig Gavin; and his great-niece Chelsea Peterson.
He is survived by: his son Matthew Gavin (Ann) of Robins, IA; his grandchildren, Mandy, Samuel and Lara Gavin; his children, Gail Gavin of St. Paul, MN and Allen Gavin (Laura) of Robins; his grandchildren, Emily and Griffin Frisby; his close friend Joanne Childers of Dubuque, IA; and his siblings, Kenneth Gavin of Steinwendle, France, Gwen Kukla of Chicago, IL, Phyllis Mott (Michael) of Feckingham, England, Greg Gavin (Peggy) of Shreveport, LA, Gary Gavin (Gloria) of Cascade, IA and Mark Gavin (Katie) of Williamsburg, IA. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Neil R. Gavin memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
