Kenneth McDermott Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kenneth McDermott of Cascade, Iowa, who passed away on July 25, 2020 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond M. McDermott and Lenore R. McDermott (Dolphin); his parents-in-law, Bob and Dorothy Trotter; and his sister Betty Vance (Jack).

He is survived by: his wife Maureen McDermott of Cascade, IA; his children, Jason McDermott (Dede) of Cascade, IA, Kristi McDermott (Gerry Notara) of Charlotte, NC, Michele Freesmeier (Jon) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Aaron McDermott of Marion, IA; his grandchildren, Sam, Rachel, Rebecca, Anna McDermott, Nathan and Claire Freesmeier; his brothers, Alan McDermott (Margie) of Cascade, IA, Bob McDermott (Barb) of Tempe, AZ, Earl McDermott (Mary) of Cascade, IA, Jerry McDermott (Shirley) of Cascade, IA and Howard McDermott (Carol) of Monticello, IA; and his children, Trevor Trotter of Melbourne, Irene Wheatley (Owen) of Toowoomba, Pat Trotter of Wauchope, Clare Groom (Terry) of Nerang, Barbara Downie (Paul) of Alexandria Hills, Kathy Trotter of Darwin and Lesley Linton (Mark) of Cedar Creek. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Kenneth be given to Aquin Elementary in Cascade, or Divine Word Seminary in Epworth.
