He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Manternach of Monticello, IA; his grandchildren, Mark Merfeld (Deb) of Monticello, IA, Tim Merfeld (Kim) of Cascade, IA, Todd Merfeld (Dana) of Cascade, IA, Tanya Deutmeyer (Tim), Brooke Manternach-Kite, Paula Moats (Jordan), Jake Manternach, Brandi Keenlance (Heath), Melissa Hanewicz (Chris), Tony Merfeld (Sonu), Kiel Merfeld (Emily), Mackenzie Cooper, Jamie Cooper, Allyson Yanecek (Danny), Isaac Merfeld, Natalie Merfeld and Eli Merfeld; his siblings, Annabelle Gudenkauf of Manchester and Allen Merfeld (Beverly) of Rockford, IL; and his in-laws, Gladys Merfeld of Dubuque, Cheryl Merfeld of Garden Prairie, IL and Gerri Merfeld of Benton Harbor, MI.. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
