He was predeceased by: his parents, John Decker and Frances Decker (Pfab); his great grandchild Donnie William; his siblings, Margaret Mary Decker, William Theodore Decker, William Nicholas Decker, Albert Decker, Raymond Decker, Vince Decker and Harvey Decker; his siblings-in-law, Mary Decker, Calista Decker, Phyllis Decker, Jim Collins and Charlie Wernimont; his niece Karen Manders; and his nephews, David Decker, Mike Decker and Robert Wernimont.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Wernimont; his children, Jerry Decker (Mac), Mary Jo Connolly (Jerry), Tony Decker (Laurie), Kathy Staner (Donnie), Janet Laban (Bill), Patty Decker, Phil Decker (Laura), Anne Wilson (Gary), Loran Decker (Cathy), Ellen Niemer (Kevin), Eugene Decker (Sue), Jenny Federspiel (Brian), Sharon Rowlet (Dave) and Jeff Decker (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Ryan, Lynndi, Ashlie, Cole, Keri, Shannon, Sara, Brad, Luke, Andrew, Marty, Erin, Nicki, Dan, Alex, Gabrielle, Jared, Brandon, Noah, Nick, Kyle, Emily, Leslie, Ben, Stephanie, Megan, Gracie, Josie, Estelle, Francey, Natalia and JJ; his great grandchildren, Hendrix, Addie, Colin, Jack, Brenlie, Max, Simon, Logan, Ashleigh, Aidan, Nora, Jackson, Allison, Charlie, Hayden, Zoey, Colie, Drew, Reagan, Will, Koen, Maelynn, Easton, Gunner, Wells, Warren, Claudia, Jerry, Ruby and Rosie; his siblings, Monica Thielen (Cletus), Darlene Collins of John, Louis Decker (Darla), Melita Hansen (Virgil), Agnes "Fran" Decker, Bernadine Giese (Mark) and Kenneth Decker; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Decker, Charlene Decker and Lynn Decker.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Martin's Church (408 3rd Ave NW, Cascade, IA 52033).
The family has established a Hubert L. Decker memorial fund in Lieu of flowers.
