He was predeceased by: his parents, John Manternach and Susan Manternach (Lahr); his wife Elizabeth A "Betty" Cigrand; his sons, Joseph Albert and Anthony; his daughter-in-law Kathy Manternach; his siblings, Rev. Albert, Peter M., Leo M., Nicholas Manternach, Josephine Manternach, Julia Manternach, Clara Wieneke, Theresa Kurt, Irmina "Min" Dolphin, Sally Neyens, Monica Manternach and Ann Marie Manternach; and his siblings-in-law, Delores Manternach, Laura Manternach, Ed Wieneke, Anthony Quint, Ronald Dolphin, Leon Wolfe, George "Whitey" Neyens and Sam Kurt.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Manternach (Aimee) of Cascade, IA, Dan Manternach (Peggy) of St. Peters, MO and Rhonda Meier (Kevin) of Cascade, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Cigrand, Grace Cigrand of Cascade, IA and Dorie Neiers (Carl) of Guttenberg, IA.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
