He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Knuth and Nellie Mae Knuth (Patterson); his wife Jeannette E. Waters; his sister Norma Smith; and his great grandchild Emma Schlemme.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Thompson (Paul) of Sherrill, IA and Mark Knuth (Cathy) of Cascade, IA; his grandchildren, Aaron Thompson (Madalina), Jeannette Thompson, Laura Marburger (Josh), Amanda Schlemme (Travis), Ryan Knuth (Molly), Kayla Thompson (Bobby) and Eric Knuth (Cara); and his siblings, Jake Knuth (Terri) of North English, Adrian Knuth (Lori) of Anamosa, Carmen Poulsen of Iowa City, Sharon Knuth of Cascade, Ingrid Goerdt (Dave) of Coralville and Elizabeth Paulson of Elgin, IL.. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
