He is survived by: his wife Betty Smith; his mother-in-law Phyllis Dean; his children, Karen Louise Pender (Carl) of Omaha, NE, Brenda Golden (Smith) of Herrin, IL, John Richard Smith (Amanda) of Kell, IL, Julius Matolek of Boone, IA and Jackson Matolek of Carter Lake, IA.; his grandchildren, Alex Scheer of Omaha, NE, Terry Pender (Kelsey) of Evansville, IN, Taylor Montgomery (Grant) of Creal Springs, IL, Madison Golden of Salem, IL, Makayla Golden of Lebanon, IL., Xander Medina (Anna) of Dearborn Heights, MI, Santos Davis, Jason Davis of Missouri Valley, IA and Elizabeth Wright of Kell, IL.; his great grandchildren, Abel, Franklin, Alayna, Olivia, Ellianna, Briar, Xaedyn and Leum; his siblings, Vickie Rea, Karen Dunn (Jim), Judy McDonnell, Brenda Smith, Edward Smith (Donna), John Smith and Bill Smith (Debbie); and his brother-in-law Jess Guilliams.
