He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Raymond and Esther Young (Rock); his daughter Jill Marie Young (late Jill Marie); his siblings, Robert Young (Lois), Doris Graham (Rod), Paul Young (Juanita) and Eleanor Begley (Don); and his sister-in-law Karen Webb (Harry).
He is survived by: his wife Margot Young of Carson; his daughters, Carol Young of Oakland, IA and Wendy Young of Adel, IA; his siblings, Ron Young (Joy) of Des Moines, IA and Carolyn Barry (Duane) of Arvada, CA; and his siblings-in-law, Clinton Voltmer (Jane) of Carlsbad, CA and Lynn Voltmer of Blair, NE. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carson United Methodist Church (300 Washington St, Carson, IA 51525). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In 1988, Harold and his brother, Ronald of H R Farms Ltd, donated 10 acres of land and sold the remaining tract to the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation to establish Farm Creek.
