He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Wenck and Hulda Wenck (Fricke); his parents-in-law, Leo and Florence Wiederien (Conroy); his great grandchildren, Carson Bowman and Savannah Wenck Yetts; his sister Oleva Kennebeck (Frank); and his siblings-in-law, William Boell, Rita Kennebeck (Joseph), Gene Wiederien, Paul Wiederien (Evelyn) and Richard "Dick" Wiederien.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Chad Bowman, Jeff Bowman, Rob Bowman, Jay Hausman, Charlie Wenck, Scott Sapp, Brad Sapp, Shane Sapp, Jess Hausman and Noah Leist; his family Lidderdale; his wife Bernice Wiederien of Carroll; his children, Sharon Bowman (Gary) of Coon Rapids, Tom Wenck (Patty) of Papillion, NE, Jan Leist (Charlie) of Clive, IA, Dan Wenck (Cindy) of Omaha and Joann Sapp (Tim) of Carroll; and his siblings, Lola Wiederien of Glidden, Violet Boell of Carroll and John Wenck (Jane) of Carroll. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home - Carroll (705 N Carroll St, Carroll, IA 51401). Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 9:30 AM. A burial was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Lawrence Catholic Church (1607 N West St, Carroll, IA 51401).
