It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilbert John Lussman of Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on December 18, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Lussman and Elsie Lussman (Hinz); his wives, Ruth Schroeder and Dorothy Rowedder Volquartsen (Rowedder); his daughter Roxanne Henry; his grandson Matthew Maixner; his son-in-law Mike Troutman; his stepgranddaughter Holly Kanne; and his sisters, Zelda Anderson, Hilma Onken and Caroline Bowman.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick Lussman of Fort Dodge, Robert Lussman and Jeff Lussman (Cheryl) of Muscatine; his stepchildren, Tom Volquartsen of Council Bluffs and Beth Troutman of Dedham; his daughter-in-law Linda Volquartsen of Carroll; his grandchildren, Philip Maixner (Sondra) of Nevada, Stephen Maixner of Nevada, Rachel McGinnis (Jeff) of Cedar Rapids, Stephanie Lussman of Iowa City, Noah Lussman of Muscatine, Ben Lussman of Cedar Rapids and Owen Lussman of Muscatine; his stepgrandchildren, Jodi Vanderheiden (Marty) of Carroll, Scott Volquartsen (Amy) of Carroll, Nic Volquartsen (Stephanie) of Carroll, Bill Troutman of Dedham, Tony Troutman (Sarah) of Carroll and Jamie Beyerink (Chris) of Carroll; his sister LaDonna Mohr of Carroll; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Wolterman of Mesa and Lois Schroeder of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Concordia Seminary.
