He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Onken and Mary Onken; his siblings, Lyle, Doyle Onken and Lois Onken; and his siblings-in-law, Beulah Onken and Larry Tigges.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Allen of Lidderdale and Mark Michael (Keary) of Iowa City; his wife Madeline Onken of Carroll; his granddaughter Lorelai Onken of Iowa City; and his sister-in-law Karen Onken of Jamaica Iowa. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
