He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rutten and Dorothy Rutten (Bruening); his former wife Ruth Sibbel; his parents-in-law, John and Elizabeth Sibbel (Soppe); his brother Ronnie of Davenport; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Brink (Dick), Jerry Hauser, Johnny Sibbel, Clarence Wempe and Lorraine Wempe.
He is survived by: his children, Allan (Cindy) of Pleasant Hill, Dennis (Joan) of Carroll, James (Mary) of Bellevue, NE and Lisa LaPenna (Philip) of Marquette, MI.; his wife Mary Jo (Spagnolo-Kelley); his stepdaughter Kathleen Shelton of Kansas City; and his siblings, Robert of Omaha, Tom (Suzy) of Naples, FL, Janice Brink of Minneapolis, MN, Donna LeGros (Denny) of Omaha, Mary Kay Schmeiser (David) of Carroll, Karen Kunecke (Gary) of Carroll and Joleen Hauser of Carroll. He is also survived by his wife, he is survived by his children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
