It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mercedes Catherine Drees of Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on October 1, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Kirsch and Leona Kirsch (Daniel); and her siblings, Jerome Kirsch, Art Kirsch, Jan Klocke and Diana Ludwig.
She is survived by: her husband Lloyd Joseph Drees of Carroll; her children, Dan Drees (Linda) of Pleasant Hill, IA, Brian Drees (Melinda) of Grinnell, IA, Lisa Tobin (Bernie) and Allan Drees (Julie); and her siblings, Monica Nellesen (Norman) of Carroll, Andrew Kirsch (Mary Ann) of Carroll, Duane Kirsch (Betty) of Carroll and Virgil Kirsch (Peggy) of Carroll. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons.
The family respectfully requests that all who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 wear a mask to the service, gravesite, and luncheon.
In lieu of food and flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church or to Kindred Hospice.
