He was predeceased by: his brother Alvin; and his sons, Cleon Vietz, Jeff Rimpley and Melvin Vietz Jr (Stillborn). He is survived by: his wife Beverly Vietz; his children, Brenda Swanson (Gerald), Mylo Vietz, Tony Rimpley and Gene Rimpley; his sisters, Donna Mae Vietz, Connie Vietz and Jane Vietz; and his half-sisters, Renetta and Shelly Vietz. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
