Schmitz; her children, Steve Schmitz (Bonnie), Peg Schmitz (Jo Chinburg), Tim Schmitz, Dale Schmitz (Nancy), Sandy Kamphoff, Mary Kohorst (Oran), Tom Schmitz (Ann Lander) and Janet Krueger (Loren); her grandchildren, Jeff Schmitz (Heather Rivera), Sarah Hiler (Tom), Keri Buren (Dominic), Kacy Kamphoff, Melissa Kohorst, Nick Kohorst (Allison), Cody Schmitz (Rachel), Jake Schmitz (Callie), Hayli Thorpe (Henry), Hannah Schmitz (Megan) and Jeffrey Lander; her great grandchildren, Braydon, Cameron, Nolan Schmitz, Sydney, Calvin, James, Henry Hiler, Jaxon, Corina Weir, Wyatt, McKenna Kohorst, Gabriel, John, Lucy, Henry Schmitz, Evelyn and Harrison Schmitz; her brother Dan Tigges (Sandy); her sisters-in-law, Jane Ahmann and Meg Tigges; her siblings, Rita Knutson (Orlie), Mary Ann Gettler (Gerald), Coletta Wood (Bill), Gerald Tigges (Donna), John Tigges, Jim Tigges (Jeri) and Louise Harrison (Dick); her in-laws, Jack Schmitz (Gladys), Elmer Schmitz (Eileen), Mark Ahmann, Marian Schmitz and Eugene Schmitz (Butch); and her son-in-law Denny Kamphoff.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Home (226 W 8th St, Carroll, IA 51401). A Mass was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (610 S Gault St, Arcadia, IA 51430).
