He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Tigges and Leona Tigges (Liewer); his daughter Julie Ann Tigges; his siblings, Dolores Sullivan (Tom), Edwin Tigges (Helen) and JoAnn Pitner; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Nieland, Duane Nieland and Connie Nieland.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Nieland of Carroll; his children, Dr. Michael Tigges of Waterloo, Dr. Russell Tigges (Abbie) of Lagrangeville and Douglas Tigges of Minneapolis, MN; his son-in-law Joe Bornong of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Kyra, Zachery, Samuel and Rachel; his sisters, Kay Simons of Carroll and Sister Mildred Tigges F. S. P.; and his siblings-in-law, Dick Pitner of Omaha, Gene Nieland (Becky) of Breda, Lois Cousseau (Peter) of New York City, Sister Ione Nieland, P. A. of LaCrosse, WI and Ethel Unger (Tom) of Silverton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
