She was predeceased by: her parents, Dale Petersen and Phyllis Petersen (Vaughn); and her husband Keith DeWitt. She is survived by: her children, Brandon DeWitt and Samantha Wears (Will); her grandchildren, Isabella, Olyvia, Ava, Aubrey and Paisley; her siblings, Jeff Petersen (Francia), Jenni Schlichte (Rick), Jim Petersen (Michelle), Jane Ladensack (Paul) and Jon Petersen; and her mother-in-law Mona Rein. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home (5400 SW 31st St, Des Moines, IA 50321). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home (5400 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315). A burial was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
