John Grote Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Grote of Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on November 26, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Grote and Colette Grote (Schettler); his parents-in-law, Leonard and Evelyn Pietig; his siblings, Paul, Ralph, Leonard, Norbert and Lorraine Vonnahme; and his sisters-in-law, Luella Grote, Irma Grote, Marlita Grote and Karma Pietig.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Pietig of Carroll; his children, Rick Grote (Jill) of Carroll, Mike Grote of Carroll and Joni O'Rourke (Clare) of Slater, IA.; his grandchildren, Patrick (Caroline), Stephanie (Ross), Nichole (Toby), Hannah (Alex), Haley, Benjamin and Chloe; his siblings, Jeanne Rosener (John), James Grote (Mary Ann) of Cave Creek, AZ., Mary Sailer of Manning, IA., Bill Grote (Nancy) of Withee, WI., Alice Hamilton (John) of Jefferson, IA., Judy Olberding (Duane "Butch") of Bonita Springs, FL and Ted Grote (Peggy) of Gibson City, IL.; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Grote of Minooka, IL, Joleen Gerdes of Carroll, IA., Bill Pietig (Judy) of Glidden, IA, Lyle Vonnahme of Carroll, IA., Charles Gerdes, Ronald Pietig and Leonard Sailer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
Those attending the Funeral Mass are required to abide by current social distancing guidelines and are required to wear a face covering.
Memorials will be forward to Kuemper Catholic Schools Foundation.
