Dorothy Bellinghausen Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Bellinghausen of Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorothy Bellinghausen to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Venner and Margaret Venner (Rutten); her husband Alvin; her son Rich Bellinghausen; her son-in-law Mike Hudson; and her siblings, Lawrence Venner, Andrew Venner, Clarence Venner, Tony Venner, Ed Venner, Albin Venner, Helen Meister, Marie Redig, Florence Bellinghausen and Rita Koester.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Bellinghausen (Diane) of Carroll, Sharon Hudson (Mike Bailey) of Mabank, Texas, Dale Bellinghausen (Donna) of Halbur, Deb Thielen (Joe) of Maple River and Karla Heisterkamp (Jack) of Carroll; her daughter-in-law Susie Bellinghausen of Arizona; her brother Cyril Venner (Anita) of Arcadia; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Bellinghausen of Carroll, Alvina Beyer of Florida, Cindy Irlbeck of Carroll, Jeannette Brown of Carroll, Mary Bolan of Carroll and Wayne Bellinghausen (Sharon) of Carroll. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Home (226 W 8th St, Carroll, IA 51401). A Mass will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Paul II Parish (421 Bluff St E, Carroll, IA 51401). She crocheted baby blankets for the hospital, made dresses for children in Honduras and sewed masks for local nursing homes during covid.
Memorial contributions will be directed to the St. Francis Cemetery Fund.
