He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Keith Johnston and Ellen "Helen" Johnston (Clements); his former wife Marianna Walter; his wife Linda Johnston (Schelle) of Carroll, IA; his children, James Johnston of Stafford, VA, Kristopher Johnston (Callie) of Ankeny, IA, Mattew Johnston (Mercedes) of Elk Horn, IA, Tonya Erickson (Jamie) of Cambridge, MN, Billy Paul (Jill) of Cawker City, KS and Tina Watts (Dan) of Hopkins, MN; and his brothers, Michael Johnston of Carroll, IA and Alan Johnston of Jefferson, IA. He was also cherished by twenty-one grandchildren including spouses; six great-grandchildren.
