He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Schmeiser and Winona Schmeiser (Hall); his son Eric Schmeiser; his brother Jerry Schmeiser; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Schmeiser (Bluml) and Elaine Schmeiser (Wenck).
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his daughters, Susan Schmeiser of Carroll, Nancy Jansonius (Todd) of Carroll and Nicole Brunskole (Craig) of Northville; his grandchildren, Eric Jansonius of Maxwell, Alex Jansonius of Carroll, Aidan Brunskole of Northville, Andrew Brunskole of Northville and Anja Brunskole of Northville; his brother Martin "Jack" Schmeiser of Glidden; his sister-in-law Patti Schmeiser of Michigan; and his friend Nita Capitan of St. Claire Shores. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
