She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcus Rettenmaier and Julia Rettenmaier; her siblings, Gerald Rettenmaier and Linda Rettenmaier; her brother-in-law John Scharfenkamp; and her nephew Tom Scharfenkamp.

She is survived by: her nephew Jeff Scharfenkamp; her niece Lori Lloyd; her sister Karen Scharfenkamp of Carroll; her nieces and nephews, Dirk Lloyd of Carroll, Sue Scharfenkamp of Carroll, Teri Scharfenkamp of Carroll, Lisa Scharfenkamp, Randy Geneser of Waukee and Jon Scharfenkamp of Lidderdale; and her close friend Mary Sharp of Sioux City.
