She was predeceased by: her husband Robert L. Harlan, Sr.; her parents, Paul A. Johns and Katherine Johns; and her siblings, Betty J. Denin and Dr. Paul A. Johns.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert L. "Bobby" Harlan Jr. (Ivonne), Donald E. "Donny" Harlan (Robin) and James M.'Jimmy" Harlan (Jeanne). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in Shirlee's name.
