It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Penny Freeman (Carlisle, Iowa), born in Mount Ayr, Iowa, who passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Penny may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Penny touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her stepfather Merlyn Mathany; and her son Beau Freeman and husband Robert (Bob. She is survived by: her siblings, Chris Powell (Lisa), Laura Haworth (Kirk) and Stephen Mathany (Sherry); her half-sister Jennifer Stevenson; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Kaitlyn, Jonathan and Wyatt; and her great grandchild Rowan.
